AB De Villiers gifted his Man of the Match award to his teammate after the Challengers defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 71 runs in an IPL eliminator match Wednesday. Singh had a 34-ball 54 in the win.
A 113-run stand between AB de Villiers and Mandeep Singh pulled them out of the doldrums and helped them post a daunting total on the board. Speaking after the match, de Villiers, RCB skipper Virat Kohli and RR skipper Steven Smith unanimously hailed the stand that proved to be the difference.
AB de Villiers admitted his side was looking at 140 on the board. "The way Mandeep played was a Man-of-the-match performance. The trophy will go to him after the presentation," he said.
