Wheel gymnastics might not be something that you’ve ever really paid attention to before. But after seeing this short video, you’ll be hooked.
Originating in Germany, wheel gymnastics utilizes what is called the Rhönrad gymnastics wheel as the center piece in the performance. Instead of the rings, uneven bar, or balance beam, gymnasts use the wheel to perform their mind-blowing moves.
The wheel was invented in 1925 by a blacksmith’s son named Otto Feick and was first introduced to the world at the Berlin Olympics in 1936 though it’s not an official event.
